The Burbank Tigers pitching coach might be looking for a new job soon. His
team allowed 14 runs while Cliff Lee(7-6), with relief help from Cha Seung
Baek, allowed Burbank 6 runs in a laugher.
Columbus tallied 8 runs in the 6th inning with the help of 6 hits. The key
offensive moment was provided by Rickie Weeks who excited the crowd when he
launched a rocket-shot out of the park for a Grand Slam homerun (his 3rd of
the season). This was a game of many highs and lows for the home town fans,
as the lead kept changing - 5 times in all.
Jon Lester(2-9) was the loser. He was not very effective, surrendering 6 runs
in 5 and 1/3 innings. With this win, Columbus has a division leading 34-34
record. They have been 6-4 lately. With the loss, Burbank has a record of
5-5 lately, 22-46, worst in the division overall.
